Complaints Procedure

At Grangehurst we try our best to ensure that the needs of all our children and parents/carers are met and that our school is a safe and happy place for all.  However we do recognise that at times concerns can arise and we ask that these are brought to our attention as soon as possible to allow us time to investigate an incident or problem.

Problems sometimes arise from misunderstandings which are easily addressed.  Most concerns and complaints can be sorted out quickly by speaking with your child's class teacher.  We believe that when parents/carers and teaching staff treat each other with mutual respect and support, this provides a very good role model for all our children.

Our ultimate aim is to find a way forward together which serves the best interest of both the school and your child.

Procedure

Speak to the class teacher about your concern and resolve at this first level.  If you still have concerns, then you should arrange to see one of the following:

Early Years Lead - Miss. S. Bailey

Year 1 and 2 Phase Leader - Mrs McGuiness

Year 3 and 4 Phase Leader - Mrs Nabeel

Year 5 and 6 Phase Leader - Miss Gurney

In the unlikely event that the concern is unable to be resolved it will then be escalated firstly to Mrs Trodden the Assistant Headteacher; then onto Mrs. Dominy the Deputy Headteacher; and if required then on to Mr. Clews as the Headteacher.

If necessary, following this process, a complaint can be put in writing to our Chair of Governors, Ms. R. Williamson, whose details can be requested from the school office.

If you have a complaint about the SEN provision for your child, in the first instance please speak with your child's class teacher.  If the situation is not resolved please arrange a meeting with Mrs. Trodden, our SENCO and the Phase Leader for your child's year group.  If the situation remains unresolved, please then follow the procedure above of speaking with Mrs. Burch, Mrs. Dominy and then finally Mr Clews as Headteacher.

Our full in depth Complaints Policy can be found under the 'Key information, Policies' section of this website.
