As we move into the last term. We will cover two topics. The first is Rio De Vida. This topic has a music focus. We will learn about where Brazil is, what it is like to live there and the carnivals they have. We will do lots of art work and making our own music before we have our very own Grangehurst Carnival.
We will then move onto Superheroes. During this topic, we will look at fictional superheroes and real life heroes. We will talk about what makes them heroes and who there enemies are. We will get the opportunity to become real life heroes when we visit Warwick Play Village to role-play ourselves as heroes.
In English, we will do lots of consolidation of the sounds we know and have learnt so far. During the Rio De Vida topic, we will read the story "Toucan Toucan" and write our own stories based on it. We will also write our own poems about animals that live in the Brazilian Rainforest.
During Superheroes, we will read the story Supertato. We will create our re-write the story, create our own heroes and write non chronological reports all about them.
During this term, we will consolidate our learning and do lots of problem solving across all areas of number. We will begin to look at shape, space and measure in more detail and develop our problem solving skills.
