This half term in Maths, the children will continue to consolidate their number and place value knowledge. Then will apply their skills through different reasoning and problem solving challenges.
We will learn how to tell the time to 5 minute intervals as well as identifying properties of 3D shapes and reading scales with different intervals.
The children need to continue to practise the 2, 5, 10 and 3 times tables both forwards and backwards as well as learning division facts e.g 35 ÷ 5 = 7
This half term in English we will be focusing on writing texts with more length through the story of ‘Sally and the Limpet’.
We will be using a variety of punctuation and sentence types and learning how we can make sentences even better by using expanded noun phrases, adverbs and conjunctions such as if, when, but, so and because.
We will be writing our own explanation texts, recounts and diary entries.
As well as this, we will be learning new spelling patterns and working hard to apply these within our writing.
Your about to become an expert beachcomber! We can take a peak into the water to find out about the weird and the wonderful animals and plants and their micro-habitats. We will invent our our rockpool resident and discover what it will need to survive happily in its watery habitat.
Got your shorts and sunglasses ready? Bucket and spade? Splash, Splash! Let’s go beachcombing…..
This topic has a science focus and will look at a variety of animals and their habitats. We will complete an experiment to see how sea water effects different materials.
We endeavour to visit Bosworth Water Park as part of this topic to give children a first hand experience of a safe and contained beach.
