Sail back to the Dark Ages, where battles were rife and fear reigned. Find out about the life of the Saxons, including how they lived and where they came from. Meet the bloodthirsty Vikings from Scandinavia - never before has such terror swept the land.
Make a Saxon sword or a Viking brooch and decorate it with intricate patterns.
In maths this half term we will be focusing on learning our 11 times table and corresponding division facts.
We will continue to build on our number and place value knowledge particularly with decimals and fraction equivalence and be developing our reasoning skills.
We will then move on to look at shape, space and measure. This will involve using different units of measure, telling the time and correctly and applying these skills in problem solving scenarios.

This half term in English we will have a focus on fiction writing. We will base our writing on 'Thor'. Before writing we will do lots of work getting to know the text and orally re-telling it. We will then move on to writing our own stories based on Thor.
We will then begin to look at poetry. Learning about features of different poem styles, reciting poems and creating our own poems based on Traders and Raiders.
