This term the children are going to explore the text 'Beowulf'.
After interviewing the warrior himself, developing their understanding of the main characters and creating a leaflet to bring aspiring poets to Denmark, they will create their very own stories, based in Beowulf's world.
Once their battle-filled tales are completed, the children will read a story about Galapagos George, as part of their 'Darwin's Delights' topic.
The children will start by writing a formal letter to Charles Darwin, asking to join his voyage, to the Galapagos Islands, on the HMS Beagle. They will then learn all about the history of Lonesome George and become news reporters, who are tasked to document the death of this historic animal!
