Dive in and get your hands and feet all sticky and covered in paint.
Play with liquids, squish some dough and check out the slushiest and mushiest foods!
Pour, mix, stir, splat! How does it feel to get your hand covered in goo?

This half term in English we will be basing lots of our work on the story of 'The Gingerbread Man'.
Children will get to know the story and the characters before writing their very own tragedy story!
As well as story writing, the children will be given the opportunity to learn about different types of poetry and write their own poem.
Children will be developing their spelling skills through consolidation and practising new spelling patterns using the Read, Write, Inc scheme and the Year 1 and Year 2 common exception words. Children receive daily spelling sessions for twenty minutes.
Children are beginning to take part in more formal guided reading sessions, where they will gain a greater depth and understanding of the texts read and develop their comprehension skills.
This half term the children will be working on developing their strategies to help with place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. They will also learn how to double and halve, write the words of numbers to 100. Children will be learning to order a series of numbers with and without missing numbers and their problem solving skills will be put to the test!
Children will be learning how to tell the time as well as learn the names and properties of 2D and 3D shapes.
