The Reception staff are so proud of how well all of the children have settled back into school life after the Christmas holiday. The children have been having lots of fun and are enjoying playing in our new indoor and outdoor role play areas. This term, the children will be thinking about what makes them feel proud.
What we are learning in Reception
Our new topic in Reception, for this half term, is 'The Three Little Pigs'. The children with be listening to different versions of the story, retelling the story through 'Talk for Writing' and creatively exploring the book.
Arriving at School
From the 15th January can all children arrive at school through the cloakroom door (Miss Bailey’s exit). There will still be an adult at the door for you to pass any messages onto and an adult in the cloakroom supporting the children. The children need not be accompanied due to lack of space and to support their independence.
We use Seesaw to evidence lot's of the children's learning. Please let one of the Reception team know if you need a copy of the login details for your child or if you need any assistance to download the app.
In light of the new hand writing policy we are sending home a sound mat with the new way the children are forming the letters. The children will have a hand writing letter each morning, but if you could practice with your child at home this will support them further.
