Within our English lessons, we will be developing our description across the settings in our story. We will be using 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe' by C. S. Lewis to study setting descriptions and write our own. We will be using drama to develop our vocabulary.
Once we have gone further into our topic, we will be creating our own cinquains based around the precious gems we find on our journey around the island. Then we will be writing explanation texts and instructions to sit alongside our very own board game creations!
During our work, we will be developing our descriptive techniques, paragraphing, commas for clarity and our understanding of the subject and verb agreement.
Within this half term, we will be practicing a variety of new skills, including long multiplication, cubed numbers, finding prime factors, as well as working on measures and converting between them.
We will be consolidating some of our existing skills such as multiplying and dividing by powers of 10, counting in powers of 10, finding the perimeter and area, and revisiting prime and square numbers too.
