Our topic this half term is Burps, Bottoms and Bile!
Let’s go on a voyage of discovery to investigate the busy world inside your body! Do you have a toothy grin or a winning smile? Follow tasty morsels through the digestive system, helped by some mouth-watering saliva! Mmmmmm! And don’t forget the importance of good hygiene at both ends! Whilst we’re talking business…could you recognise an animal just by it’s poo? Are you brave enough to take the challenge? Do beans really have wind power? Work scientifically and bottom these ones out once and for all.
Join us on an adventure of where your grub goes and what happens to it on the way!
In maths this half term we will be focusing on learning our 9 times table and corresponding division facts.
We will be looking at factors and multiples of the times tables we already know and looking for patterns with these facts. To consolidate this learning we will also be doing lots of reasoning and problem solving.
We will then move on to look at shape, space and measure. This will involve using different units of measure correctly and applying these skills in problem solving scenarios.

This half term in English we will be learning about explanation texts. Our model text will be about How the Digestive System works? We will then use this to create our own Fantastic Beasts, based on the J K Rowling book Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Once we have created our beasts, we will write our own explanation about how our beasts digestive system works.
Our fiction focus will be based upon the book Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. We will learn the parts of the story, express opinions on the text before writing our own version of the book where our Fantastic Beasts comes to live and causes havoc!
