What Year 2 are learning this half term!
'Muck, Mess & Mixtures'
Let's get messy!
Muck and mess is good! In fact, it's mega - marvellous!
Dive in and get your hands and feet all sticky and covered in paint.
Play with liquids, squish some dough and check out the slushiest and mushiest foods!
Pour, mix, stir, splat! How does it feel to get your hand covered in goo?
This half term in English we will be basing lots of our work on the story of 'The Gingerbread Man'.
Children will get to know the story and the characters before writing their very own tragedy story!
As well as story writing, the children will be given the opportunity to learn about different types of poetry and write their own poem.
Children are beginning to take part in more formal guided reading sessions, where they will gain a greater depth and understanding of the texts read.
This half term the children will be working on developing their strategies to help with addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. They will also learn how to double and halve, write the words of numbers beyond 100, and find fractions of shapes and amounts! Children will be learning to order a series of numbers with and without missing numbers and their problem solving skills will be put to the test!
Children will be learning how to tell the time as well as learn the names and properties of 3D shapes.
