To Try Our Very Best in All We Do

Spring 1

TOPIC

‘Splendid Skies’

Imagine floating high above the land and sea on the clouds.

Back down to Earth, let’s take a walk outdoors. But what should we wear? Wellingtons? A sun hat? Maybe a warm coat? But how do we know what the weather will be like today?

What weather do you prefer? Sunshine, snow, storms, get your wellies on let’s go!

English

Over this half term we will be learning the story of Jack and the beanstalk. We will be learning about  using different adjectives to describe and how to ask questions.

We are also looking at ‘non-fiction’. Beginning to understand what this means.

We will be learning about instructions and will be beginning to write our own.

We will continue to have discrete phonics lessons at   other points in the day to allow the children to continue to learn new sounds needed for their reading and  writing.

After these phonics sessions your child may bring home spellings to learn, please support your child to practise reading and spelling these words.
